Q: Are flights included in the price?

A: No. All guests are responsible for booking and covering the cost of their own flights and personal expenses. However, transportation from the Luxor Airport to the accommodation will be provided free of charge. 

 

Q: Do I need a visa to attend a retreat in Egypt?

A: Most travelers will need a tourist visa to enter Egypt. We recommend applying in advance through the official Egypt e-Visa portal. A single-entry visa typically costs around $25 USD, while a multiple-entry visa is approximately $60 USD. Please check with your local Egyptian embassy or consulate to confirm the latest requirements based on your nationality.

Q: Are private rooms available?

A: Yes! Private rooms and separate apartments available in our Standard and Premium packages but are limited. Early booking is recommended to secure your preferred room type.

Q: What meals are included?

A: Depending on the package, you will receive nourishing meals daily plus snacks and refreshments throughout your stay.

Q: Can I get a refund or Cancel?

Cancellation Policy

If your travel plans change, you may be eligible for a refund based on the timing of your cancellation. Cancellations made at least 30 days before the retreat start date will receive a full refund, including the deposit. Cancellations made less than 30 days before the retreat are non-refundable.

Q: What should I pack for travelling in Egypt & for the retreat?

A: Egypt is an Islamic country and is therefore generally conservative. Modest clothing is respectful and recommended, especially when visiting sacred or public sites. We recommend bringing comfortable, modest clothing that is still suitable for warm weather, walking shoes, a hat or scarf for sun protection, and a reusable water bottle. Additionally, because each retreat package is designed around a unique theme, the itineraries provided for each may include specific guidance on attire or colors to help deepen your connection to the experience and align with the retreat’s spiritual focus.

 

 

Q: Is it safe to travel in Egypt?

A: Our retreat is held in a well-traveled, secure area with professional guides. However, it’s always wise to check current travel advisories and exercise standard travel precautions, as well as do some individual research into the country and its culture before travelling. 

Q: Will I have free time to explore?

A: Yes. While the schedule includes daily activities, there is usually designated free time for rest, personal reflection, or exploring local markets and culture.

Q: What language is spoken in Egypt?

A: The official language is Arabic. English is commonly spoken in tourist areas, especially by guides and hotel staff. HORWT is partnered with guides who speak both Arabic and English. 

Q: What is the local currency, and can I use credit cards?

A: The local currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). Credit cards are accepted in many larger shops, but it’s advisable to carry some cash for local markets and tips.
