Arrival: Luxor International Airport Upon arrival, our team will warmly welcome you with your personalized itinerary in hand. You’ll be transported in a spacious, air-conditioned vehicle to the retreat. Once on-site, we take care of your luggage and check you into your Egyptian-styled Suite—designed to offer both privacy and community, with individual sleeping areas, a shared lounge, kitchenette, Wi-Fi, full bath, and a private balcony. (Private rooms available upon request and subject to availability.)

What should I bring to this retreat?

Comfortable clothing, a journal, walking shoes, a reusable water bottle, and an open heart. A full packing list is provided in finalized itinerary, including recommendations for sacred sites and wellness sessions.

Please note that Egypt is an Islamic country and is therefore generally conservative. Modest clothing is respectful and recommended, especially when visiting sacred or public sites. We recommend bringing comfortable, modest clothing that is still suitable for warm weather, walking shoes, a hat or scarf for sun protection, and a reusable water bottle.

Additionally, because each retreat package is designed around a unique theme, the itineraries provided for each may include specific guidance on attire or colors to help deepen your connection to the experience and align with the retreat’s spiritual focus.

 

Is lodging and meals included?

Yes. Accommodations are provided in peaceful, culturally rich settings that support rest and reflection. Rooms are comfortable, clean, and designed to enhance your retreat experience.

Meals are provided by retreat accommodations and prepared to high standards. Drink bottled water and be cautious with street food if you have a sensitive stomach. Depending on the package, you will receive nourishing meals daily plus snacks and refreshments throughout your stay.

Do I need a Visa to travel to Egypt?

Travelers coming from North America do not require a visa for Egypt. However, other international travelers may need to do further research. We recommend checking with your local embassy in advance of your trip.

Egypt is a vibrant and culturally rich country. Tourist areas are generally safe, and locals are known for their hospitality. Expect a blend of ancient tradition and modern convenience. 

Languages spoken

The official language is Arabic. English is commonly spoken in tourist areas, especially by guides and hotel staff. HORWT is partnered with guides who speak both Arabic and English. 

Currency

The local currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). Credit cards are accepted in many larger shops, but it’s advisable to carry some cash for local markets and tips.
